About Me
Ben Anderson is a proud Red River Métis citizen with kinship ties to the Goulet, Lagimodiere, Siveright, Macdonell, and McDougall families of Red River. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Ben carries a deep connection to his home and community.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba, where he studied Indigenous politics, governance, and history. His professional experience includes serving as an Engagement & Consultation Assistant with the Manitoba Métis Federation and working as a strategist on several successful federal campaigns in Winnipeg. These roles gave him first-hand insight into Indigenous governance, policy development, and community engagement.
As co-founder of Swank Business Solutions, an Indigenous-owned digital marketing and technology firm, Ben has helped organizations across Canada strengthen communications and adopt digital solutions, more than 50% of them being Indigenous-owned businesses.
Through his background in politics, governance, and entrepreneurship, Ben brings a unique perspective to Indigenous training and consulting. He is dedicated to creating educational and advisory services that are authentic, community-specific, and designed to advance reconciliation in Canada.
A proud Alumnus of the University of British Columbia and the University of Manitoba, where he majored in Political Science and Minored in Indigenous History.
