Indigenous Digital Training & Course Development
- 1. Awareness
- 2. Impact
- 3. Options
We are in an age of Indigenous empowerment and reconciliation. Despite this, the general population, corporations, government entities, and institutions of learning, still do not have a strong enough grasp on Indigenous peoples, our history, and the challenges we face. As Indigenous peoples continue to take their rightful places in all major institutions, it is imperative that these institutions gain a comprehensive understanding of all Indigenous peoples. Additionally, non-Indigenous people are quite hesitant to ask questions in fear of saying something culturally insensitive.
With our innovative digital programming, we are providing major western institutions with a comprehensive, inclusive, and effective education amongst all three Indigenous groups in Canada (First Nations, Inuit, and Metis). Not only is educating your organization on Indigenous peoples a step towards reconciliation, it is a step that will elevate your organization to new levels of efficiency, inclusivity, and effectiveness. An organization that possesses a strong understanding of Indigenous peoples, is inevitably a more attractive organization for Indigenous people to be a part of, and an organization that is more fit to do business and collaborate with Indigenous Nations and Businesses.
Organizations can choose from one of our existing courses to educate their staff, or can collaborate with L'ikol to custom develop a course that is specifically suited to the Indigenous peoples in the organization's region.

Indigenous Identity Fraud Services
Indigenous Identity Fraud is a phenomenon that has pervaded major institutions in Canada. Now that there are opportunities for Indigenous peoples to take their rightful places within Canadian institutions, there are many 'opportunists' who are fraudulently claiming Indigenous Identity and taking these spaces from Indigenous people. Indigenous Identity Fraud is pervasive among all major institutions including: Post-Secondary Admissions, the Public Sector, Academia, Corporations, and more. Our experienced team at L'ikol can provide your organization with the tools and frameworks to ensure that Indigenous spaces are being filled with Indigenous peoples. Museum Indigenization and Repatriation Services
It is no secret that many of the Museums around the world are in possession of stolen Indigenous artifacts. Many museums are aware of this and wish to have these artifacts repatriated, though they have no conception of how to achieve this. Our team of Museum experts can facilitate and consult on any Indigenous Repatriation efforts.
Outside expertise is required to ensure that artifacts are returned to the appropriate Indigenous communities, and that the artifacts are returned in a culturally appropriate manner. Considerations also need to be given to the capacity of Indigenous communities to preserve their rightful artifacts, which our museum experts can help facilitate once the artifacts are rightfully returned.
